According to the latest date released by Dubai Tourism, 15.79 million tourists visited Dubai in 2017. The report states there is 6.2% hike in visitors compare to 5% rise in 2016. You should note down that Dubai has set the target of 20 million tourists by 2020.
Dubai Tourism Director General Helal Saeed Almarri said: “Our strong 6.2% growth in 2017 has allowed us to ramp up the pace towards meeting our 2020 targets. With Dubai firmly consolidating its position as the 4th most visited city globally, we remain confident that our performance, backed by the continued strength of our partnerships across government and private sector stakeholders, will enable us to successfully attain our goals of becoming the number one most visited city.”
The report just came out a day after it was reported that Dubai International Airport is busiest airport for the international passengers. Dubai International Airport is maintaining the status for last three years now. Though the traffic growing rate is very slow for last nine years but still 88.2 million international passengers visited Dubai International Airport in 2017.
According to the report 2.1 million Indians visited Dubai in 2017. Which is more than any other country visitors to Dubai. 1.53 million Saudis and 1.27 million British visited Dubai in 2017 which make them stands on 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
